Unenrol Your Devices

When your device is enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program, you will automatically receive new versions of the beta. At any time, you may unenrol your device so that it no longer receives these updates.

Open Software Update in System Settings

Launch System Settings, select General and choose Software Update.

Turn off beta updates

For Mac computers using macOS Ventura 13.4 or later:

To stop receiving betas, click the Info button next to Beta updates, then choose Off.

For Mac computers using macOS Ventura 13.3 or earlier:

To stop receiving betas, click the Details button next to “This Mac is enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program”. A dialogue will appear asking if you would like to restore your default update settings. Choose Restore Defaults.

Install the next version of macOS

When the next commercial version of macOS is released, you can install it from Software Update.

Turn off beta updates

For devices using iOS 16.4 or later:

To stop receiving betas, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and tap Off from the list of options.

For devices using iOS 16.3 or earlier:

Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management and tap the iOS & iPadOS Beta Software Profile that appears.

Tap Remove Profile. If asked, enter your device passcode, then tap Remove. Once the profile is deleted, your device will no longer receive iOS betas.

Install the next version of iOS

When the next commercial version of iOS is released, you can install it from Software Update.

To go back to a prior release, you can restore your iOS device from the backup that you created before installing the beta.

Once your setting has changed, your Apple TV will no longer receive tvOS betas. When the next commercial version of tvOS is released, it will automatically install if you have Automatic Updates turned on. Or you can install it from Settings > System > Software Update > Update Software.

To stop receiving the watchOS betas, go to the Apple Watch app on your paired iPhone, tap the My Watch tab, then go to General > Software Update > Beta updates, and tap Off from the list of options.

Install the next version of watchOS

When the next commercial version of watchOS is released, it will automatically install if you have Automatic Software Update turned on. Or you can manually check for updates by going to the Apple Watch app on your paired iPhone, tapping the My Watch tab, then going to General > Software Update.

Launch Home app

To stop receiving HomePod betas, go to the Home app > Home Settings > Software Update > Beta Updates and unenrol the HomePod mini or HomePod (2nd generation) you no longer want on the Beta program.

Install the next version of HomePod software

Once your setting has changed, your HomePod mini or HomePod (2nd generation) will no longer receive HomePod software. When the next version of HomePod software is released, it will automatically install if you have Automatic Updates turned on. Or you can install it from Home app > Home Settings > Software Update > Update Software.

How do I leave the Apple Beta Software Program?

To leave the Apple Beta Software Program, you must first sign in, then click the Leave Program link. If you leave, you will stop receiving emails about the Apple Beta Software Program and will no longer be able to submit feedback with Feedback Assistant.
